About serenity

Are you worried about work, family difficulties or a relationship?

… feeling anxious or depressed?
… struggling to come to terms with a bereavement or loss?
… going through a difficult time of change?

You may have been soldiering on for some time but, underneath it all, feeling unhappy, isolated, anxious or even depressed - Unsure what to do or who to turn to. Speaking with friends and family is often useful and could be all that you need to do for much of the time. However, sometimes that might not be possible or easy to do. This is when meeting, in confidence, with a Psychotherapist or a Counsellor can be helpful, whether it’s something recent or you've been unhappy for some time.

Serenity can help!

Serenity is a private practice based in Chelmsford, offering counselling services across Essex. I offer a safe and confidential space for you to share thoughts, emotions and life experiences. By creating a warm and collaborative environment going at your pace in which you can express yourself without fear of judgement. I offer a professional perspective on whatever is troubling you, give you a dedicated space and time where you'll be listened to without judgment, in a safe environment encouraging reflection in more depth and detail.

A supportive therapeutic relationship can provide a place for you to take time out from your problems in order to try to understand your difficulties and challenges, with the chance to see things from a different perspective. Together we can explore what might be holding you back and begin the process for lasting change. It can be isolating to struggle on alone, so perhaps it's time to try a different way.

My name is Azemina Dani

I am a fully qualified BACP registered Counsellor and Psychotherapist working at HMP Chelmsford with male offenders across the prison. I run my private practice working with adults and young people struggling with a range of difficulties from depression, bereavement, anxiety, relationship difficulties, family issues and low self-esteem. I aim to offer a warm and collaborative relationship, allowing you to support yourself better, whilst developing new self-awareness and coping strategies.

As an Integrative counsellor I bring together ideas and ways of working from several schools of thought. Together these different perspectives enable me relate to each person from a holistic viewpoint, meaning I pay attention to the many different ways in which human experiences are expressed - consciously, unconsciously, physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. Working in a flexible way, I tailor my approach in response to each unique individual.

Alongside private practice, my experience also derives from my position within the NHS and counselling with the mental health charity MIND.https://www.cpslmind.org.uk/. Currently a Full-time High Intensity IAPT practitioner delivering 1:1 counselling and group counselling with a CBT modality to prisoners. Have a look at my profiles on Psychology Today and the BACP for more about me and how I work.
